Position: Systems Administrator(All Levels)
Varsity Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our growing technology services team.
As a Systems Administrator, you will:
- Serve clients by supporting their staff through technical support and education.
- Use advanced management and diagnostic tools.
- Manage and maintain client IT systems.
- Collaborate with your peers and the client on the effective use of technology.

Systems Administrators need to be able to:
- Manage multiple tasks and issues.
- Respond to automated alerts within a given service level.
- Analyze client systems and make recommendations for improvements.
- Coordinate resolution of service provider issues.
- Manage the response and resolution of support requests.
Do you have experience with these technologies?
- Microsoft Windows operating systems including XP, Vista, and Windows 7
- Client applications including Microsoft Office
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Server virtualization technologies (VMWare, Citrix Xen, Microsoft Hyper-V)
- Messaging platforms and protocols (SMTP, Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010)

We really would like:
Bachelor's degree preferred

Varsity is seeking an IT Technician to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for solving problems, implementing solutions, and developing sensible and sustainable designs for clients. This technical support position will require a well-rounded individual who can communicate with our clients in a non-techno jargon way. The job duties include providing clients technical support for their staff, their servers, network, voice, and computing infrastructure. The individual will manage client service requests, resolve technical issues, and develop processes to provide improve service. The candidate should be self motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a highly productive environment.

Someone with a can do attitude that relaxes under pressure, enjoys a challenge and loves to solve technical problems. You possess an MCSE 2003 level of knowledge with either the actual qualification or the experience to back up your skills. You are excited about showing off your knowledge in dialogue with our equally amazing engineering team.
To consider applying for this position ideally you should be able to install and a Window 2008 server and configure the following:
- Active Directory (beyond just adding and editing user accounts)
- DNS server
- File and Print server
- User and folder permission
In addition can you perform the following tasks?
- Configure a Cisco or Fortigate firewall, including the tricky bits.
- Troubleshoot network issues including TCP/IP connectivity, DHCP, DNS, and VPN?v
- Resolve desktop and laptop issues on Mac and Windows using remote tools?
- Fix many of the most common Microsoft Office 2003/2007 (especially Outlook and its interface with Exchange) problems.
- Configure backup software (for example, Backup Exec).
- And of course you love troubleshooting problematic engineering issues involving all of the above mentioned technologies.
You must know how to manage multiple priorities, know when to forge ahead and when to ask for help. You are not easily overwhelmed. You tend to defuse tense situations just by being your calm, cheerful self.
