Varsity Technologies was created with one goal in mind: to help schools use technology to better serve students. Over ten years later, the passion behind this simple idea is still at the heart of everything we do with our clients.
From 1994 to 1997, Varsity's founder and CEO, Patrick Ciccarelli, served as a computer resource teacher in the San Francisco Unified School District. During his teaching career he helped design and install networks in underfunded schools across San Francisco and elsewhere in the Bay Area.
In addition to providing support to local schools, in 1997 Patrick started up and ran one of the world's first Cisco Networking Academy locations. A newly-formed program within Cisco Systems, Inc., the Networking Academy prepared students for a career in the IT industry. Patrick's academy grew to be one of the largest regional academies at that time, with more than 20 participating schools across five counties. After running the program from 1997 to 1999, Patrick moved on to create an IT consulting company committed to serving the education market: Varsity Technologies.
Today, Varsity is a dynamic, creative organization, comprised of professionals who are focused on the mission of providing IT consulting services that have a social and environmental impact. We serve a wide variety of clients including schools, non-profits, small businesses, and other service organizations. We continue to expand our consulting services and staff to support a growing demand for socially- and environmentally-minded IT solutions.
